Wisper have announced that they will have no stocks of new batteries till 2027
In a sad Press Release sent to dealers on 7th September, they announced a complete breakdown of relations with their Chinese supplier. This supplier has now refused to send out any parts or batteries. While many parts can be sourced from other suppliers, the Rack batteries for 705, 905 & 806 are constructed in a custom mould. This mould will have to be re-produced by another supplier and new battery certified.
At edevon-ebikes we employ a re-celling process for individual Wisper rack batteries. We have been doing this in my previous company with this contractor since 2020. Wisper was never included in this offer as new batteries were available from Wisper at reasonable prices.
Wisper Rack Batteries
Edevon-ebikes has featured the Wisper rack battery since the shortage became acute in early 2026. We are able to re-cell any battery to any capacity, enabling you to choose a larger pack with greater range or to downsize. Our contractors are expecting to be back in stock will all size cell packs early in October. As we did not have a 575Wh pack earlier in the year, we offered a 500Wh pack @£395. Wisper Wayfarer 43V Batteries.
Wisper have recently marked on their website that Wayfarer Batteries as being out of stock. This battery is probably constructed in a case that can be purchased on the market as Wisper are offering new empty cases. When ordering a replacement battery for a Wayfarer, take great care as these batteries are 43V. There are very few e-bikes with a 43V system. In particular care must be taken in replacing a charger. A 36V charger will not put much or any charge into the battery. A 48V charger will deliver up to 54.6V. This means that the charger may not switch off when the battery is fully charged and may be a fire risk. Only use a genuine 43V charger which may be marked 49.2V

Wisper Tailwind 36V batteries
These “Out of Stock” Wisper batteries are used in the Tailwind Classic and Comfort full size bikes. The cases are probably available on the open market. In that the company has no stock of the bikes and the bikes have been sold in far smaller quantities, I shall be surprised if they go back into production, leaving re-celling as the only option. Be aware that the 360Wh and 540Wh utilise different cases. It will not be possible to upgrade a 360Wh to 540Wh, but it will be possible to downsize.
