The Hikobike  Scout is a 48V rear Hub Drive sports electric bike.  It is a rare step-through hardtail 18" MTB frame on 26″ wheels. Scout has the same performance and specification as the Enduro. They are both fitted with torque sensors, so that the motor’s power is partly controlled by the pressure applied to the pedals by the rider - just like a mid-drive bike.  Additionally, it is fitted with a throttle which works up to 15mph while the pedals are being turned

The 48V voltage system delivers more power, resulting in improved acceleration and better general performance, especially on hill climbing.  These bikes can continue on further without power fade as they are powered by a 670Wh battery.  This battery will keep you going for 50 – 80 miles.  But remember, if you keep asking the system to give maximum performance over extended time, the range will be shortened. Both bikes have a high level of specification including thumb throttles, suspension seat posts, full mudguards and integrated front and rear lights with a rear brake light.

They are powerful responsive electric bikes with chunky robust frames making then suitable for off-road paths and tracks. But when fitted with hybrid tyres with a road tread, they are long distance cruising bikes.
