The New Tailwind 806  Encore Torque Sensor electric bike has a power delivery that relies on the amount of pressure being applied to the pedals as they are being turned.  This gives the rider a feel much more like riding a standard bike  Because the amount of power delivered by the motor is controlled by the rider in this way, the range achieved on a battery is likely to be increased by 10 – 20%.

The low step-through frame is easy to mount and the new folding mechanism is unobtrusive, easy to use, and locks the frame rigidly.

The TW806 Encore has an enhanced specification from the standard bike. These differences are highlighted in italics in the Specification.  The Hi torque rear hub motor, combined with 20” wheels is exceptional for hill climbing. This combines with the 9 speed derailleur and 5 levels of torque assist to give the rider ample options for regulating power and speed. Addiitionally, by selecting option 6 on the Rider display, the torque sensor is switched OFF and a full power cadence sensor takes over.

The Elite Torque sensor bike is fitted with a UK legal thumb throttle. This is placed on the left hand handlebar and works up to 4mph without pedalling. A Twist and Go “Full Throttle” Option is available as an extra. Full details are available on the Wisper website.

The colour display which controls the bike provides the rider with a wealth of information as well as power setting, speed and battery state. You also have an odometer, trip recorder and time.  A USB port fitted so that you can charge a device, especially one you may be using on the bike.

The bike fittings reflect today’s standards with hydraulic disc brakes and simple 2 finger Shimano “Rapid Fire” gear change, front and rear lights operated from the main battery, light rigid blade forks and comfort saddle. T

The rack mounted battery, available in 2 capacities, is housed in a frame suitable for a wide range of baskets and accessories including a Child Seat.

Venture Pack. 

This would be fitted by Wisper before sending out.  Fit Schwalbe Marathon 365 4 seasons tyres and Tannus puncture protection. A front rack is also included in the pack. The Marathon 365 tyres have excellent puncture resistance and a heavy road tread for grip in all seasons including cold, wet and snowy.

Full Throttle

The bike can be converted to a full throttle. Each bike has to be MVSA Certified and this will add about 6 weeks to the delivery time.  But when done the bike can legally be ridden up to 15mph on Throttle only.  This will significantly reduce the range.  For more information, go to the Wisper website.  Note:- The standard throttle on all bikes works up to 15 mph while the pedals are being turned.
