Following the phenomenal success of the Ampere Deluxe 700C and Deluxe 26” wheel. Ampere developed the model one step further.  While appreciating the many customers love the response of the rear hub motors of the earlier models, Ampere understand that some riders will enjoy the riding experience of the new Deluxe Pro with the powerful Mid-drive motor.

Mid-drive motors deliver a more controlled riding style with the bike power responding to the rider’s pressure on the pedals. This is known a torque sensot drive. The new system has been designed into the Deluxe 700 style frame for maximum comfort and riding position

Understanding that riders are seeking extra range, the down tube which houses the battery has been modified so that in addition to the 10Ah & 14Ah battery capacities, a 17.5 Ah battery can be fitted.  This was previously only available on the X-Trail MTB models. 

Although mid-drive motors need greater Torque due to the larger chain wheel, they tend to use about 10% less power, relying on the riders pedal pressure.   This means that a reasonably fit rider on moderate terrain should get 60 miles range and on an eco ride up to 80 miles might be achieved with the new 17.5Ah battery. This requirement for the extra torque ina mid-drive motor makes them more expensive

Much of the bike specification relies on tried and tested parts from the rear hub models.  Since 2021 Ampere have upgraded the parts on their bikes to minimise failures and ensure years of trouble free riding.

With more brands of Mid-drive motors appearing on the market, prices have become more competitive so that Ampere have been, for 2026, able to recommend a price of £1849 inc.VAT for the 10Ah.
